Portugal – Estoril

Desire Football Club Shines at IberCup

This summer, our U9s and U11s had the incredible opportunity to represent Desire Football Club at the prestigious IberCup Portugal in Estoril, competing against some of the best youth teams from around the world.

From the first whistle, our players embraced the challenge with passion, skill, and a relentless desire to compete. A special congratulations goes to our U9s, who finished top of the table and unbeaten in the group stage — an incredible achievement and a true testament to their hard work, dedication, and teamwork throughout the season.

Although both squads were unfortunately knocked out in the quarter-final stages, the progress and commitment shown by every player was nothing short of inspiring. Our young footballers demonstrated that they can compete at an elite level while embodying the values of sportsmanship, respect, and unity.

The IberCup experience was about more than results — it was about creating unforgettable memories, building friendships, and testing ourselves against the very best. The lessons learned on and off the pitch will no doubt help our teams grow even stronger for the seasons ahead.

The future is bright for Desire Football Club. Well done to every player, coach, and parent who made this journey possible — we are proud of you all!

Paris World Games

A Summer to Remember: Desire FC

This summer, our U13 and U14 squads had the unforgettable opportunity to compete in the Paris World Games – one of the most prestigious youth football tournaments in Europe – and what an experience it was!

Set in the heart of Paris, the French capital and home to this year’s UEFA Champions League winners, the tournament brought together top academy sides and grassroots talent from around the globe. Our boys proudly represented Desire FC, testing themselves against elite-level opposition in an international environment unlike any they’d experienced before.

Throughout the tournament, our players showcased their talent, determination, and teamwork against some of the best youth sides in Europe and beyond. Each match presented a new challenge – from differing styles of play to facing technically gifted opponents – and our teams rose to the occasion with incredible spirit.

Playing at some of Paris’s top sporting venues, the boys experienced what it truly means to play at an international level. The quality of football was outstanding, but even more impressive was the attitude, maturity, and unity our players displayed both on and off the pitch.

While the competition was fierce, the experience extended far beyond the results. The players had the chance to:

Explore the beautiful city of Paris

Connect with players from around the world

Embrace different cultures and languages

Build friendships and create lifelong memories

It was a week full of football, laughter, learning, and growth – a journey that will stay with these young athletes for years to come.
A Message from the Coaches

“We couldn’t be prouder of the way the boys carried themselves throughout the tournament. They represented the club with passion, respect, and professionalism. It was an incredible experience for everyone involved – and a huge step forward in their development, both as footballers and young people.”

Looking Ahead

Competing in the Paris World Games has inspired our players to continue pushing their limits and dreaming big. The experience has not only strengthened their footballing ability but also their confidence and belief in what they can achieve.

A massive thank you to all the parents, supporters, and staff who made this journey possible. The future is bright for our U13s and U14s – and this summer in Paris was just the beginning.
